The Summers Life

Tyler’s Commercial Debut

After what feels like 1000 auditions and call backs. I am proud to say, he booked it!

Auditions may sound exciting to those who are unfamiliar with the process. I will say that, it can be as fun or as complicated as you want it to be.

Pre COVID, auditions meant that we had to really plan the day out. Depending on who was auditioning, where and when. The process could take anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours from signing in, filling out sheets, quick head shots on site and then meeting the directors.

See if you can spot Remy in here.

Our eldest has been going to auditions since he was 2.5 yrs old, only because he was tagging along with us. We soon discovered he was a natural! A friend of ours helped us get organised, and we were off. Over time as our family grew, we were able to fit specific roles that were needed. If you want to find more about agencies, check Vancouver Actors Guide.

Fast forward to now, most auditions are done from the comfort of our own home. A lot of self-taping is involved, this is easier for some (not me apparently) but it is definitely easier than hauling everyone in the car, accounting for traffic and finding parking once we get to the studio.

Now for the part you have all been waiting for!
